Characteristic for CLAPEKOs creation is the duality of emotions that manifests
itself in free gestural painting and builds a first lacquer layer, on the one
hand and the rational bundling and order of these emotional powers by
geometric-constructive forms on the other hand.
Concrete, monochrome forms and plains are - added to rows - set over the
informal painting. They contrast the eruptive-free painting with a counterpoint
of colourful plains of calmness, which can fall into flotation themselves.
In the second half of the 90's strictly parallel set vertical lines were
determinant; in recent works oval or circular discs in a close sequence have
also taken over the arranging function of the stripes.
